Barney!

At our K-2 assembly on a Thursday afternoon, Barney sits and watches for the best class. At the end of assembly, he chooses the best class and they get to look after him for the week. Last week we were lucky enough to win Barney. He chose us!

One afternoon Barney got into the dress ups! Look at him!

K-2 Athletics Carnival

On Thursday 21st August, Kindergarten and Stage One had their mini athletics carnival at school.

First, we ran lots of running races and some of us even got ribbons. Next, we had a cake stall and got to eat lots of delicious cakes. After that, we had lots of activities and some of the parents stayed to play with us. Later on we had lunch and in the afternoon we all got to relax in our classrooms.

We all had a great day at the athletics carnival and can’t wait for next year!

Small words count!

Lately we have been completing a maths project called Small Words Count! It is a project that is focused on word problems and using concrete materials to work them out. We are now at the point where we can write our own problems and help each other find out the answer! Have a look at some of our photos.

Cricket Australia

Last week, a man from Cricket Australia came to teach us how to play cricket. We had to participate in four activities. These activities were batting, bowling, catching and wicket keeping. It was such an awesome time! Look at our photos!

The Healthy Food Pyramid

Last term we studied health and nutrition. As a way to understand the food groups, we made our own healthy food pyramid using food containers that we brought in from home. Have a look at our photos and see if you can see the different types of food!

Dance 2 B Fit!

Every Wednesday afternoon, Mel from Dance 2 B Fit comes to teach us cool dances! We love dancing and we are keeping fit and healthy whilst having fun! Watch our montage to see how much fun we have!

Fruit break!!

At 10:00am each day, we have a 15 minute fruit break. During this time we get to eat a piece of fruit to increase our energy levels, have a drink to hydrate ourselves and a toilet break to get us through until recess. We love fruit break and here is the proof!

Jo from Vision Personal Training

Last week we were lucky enough to have Jo, a personal trainer, come to talk to us about nutrition and exercise. After we all shared some information (as we know a lot about nutrition as well) we went outside and had our own personal training session. Jo was so cool and she gave us all our own bottle of water to help us stay hydrated.

Thanks Jo!

Lego!

We are lucky enough to have an excellent tub of Lego in our classroom. We get to play with it when we have free time. Here are some things we have created!
